If you wish to hide certain parts of your profile from others, you can.  Hover over the "Profile" tab and select the "Privacy" menu option.  On the screen displayed, you can select what, and to whom you share information.

• Public setting indicates anyone can see your details, whether logged into the site or not
• Site Members only allows people who have an account on GAYnatter and who are signed in to see your details
• Friends only allows people who you have designated as friends and who are signed in to see your details
• Only Me only allows you to see the details.

You will notice that as you perform certain activities, your profile shows an increase of "points".  These points are awarded when you do things like write a message, add a friend etc.

Our top 10 points earners are always shown on the front of the website.  The more points you see a user has, the more likely they are to be an active participant in the website.

My profile looks empty, how do I fill it out?

ANSWER:
When you register on the site, we don't ask too many questions to save you time in registering.  However, you will obviously want to be able to add more information about yourself.  To do this, log in using your username and password (or Facebook Connect if you have signed up using that).  Once logged in, click on the "Community" menu option.  You will then see your profile.  To edit it, hover over the "Profile" tab, and you will see a menu of options available.  These are...

• Change Profile Picture... as it says, upload a picture of you!
• Edit Profile... allows you to fill out information about you, what you're looking for etc.
• Edit Details... Allow you to change things such as your email address, time zone etc.
• Privacy... select who can see what about you
• Preferences... change your general site preferences
