A Way to Invite Your Friends

We've today introduced a new, better way to invite your friends. You can now send invites to friends both using your email contacts, for example Live/Hotmail, as well as popular social networking websites such as facebook. You can simply enter your email address/username, and your password for that account, and we will list for you all your contacts for you to choose which ones you wish to send an invite to GAYnatter to. Don't worry, we cannot see (or store) your password details, and the communication with the service uses the secure methods of the relevant service.

In addition to you being able to invite people this way, you will also earn points for everyone who joins up. You can also see who you have invited, and whether they've joined the website. And when they do join using the link sent to them, you will automatically become friends should you choose to do so. You can also resend invites for people that haven't yet joined up.

We think this is a much improved method of inviting your friends to come and join up to GAYnatter, and will make it much easier for you to see who you have invited and who have joined the website.

Invite Your Friends

Hello Everyone.

Just a very quick news item to ask you to invite your friends to the website. You will notice at the top of the screen there is now a "Tell a Friend" button. This is a service provided by a company called "SocialTwist" which allows you to use the most popular services like MSN Messenger, Hotmail, Facebook etc, to invite people to GAYnatter. You log in using your normal details (which are secure) and it will show you a list of contacts you can send a message to, inviting them to join GAYnatter. The site, although relatively new, is expanding fast, and we want to keep it heading in that direction.

Thank you all for your participation in the site, and it's beginning to look very impressive with the number of posts and contributions from you all.

Do You Have an IPhone?

GAYnatter on the IPhone If you have an Apple IPhone, or an IPod Touch, then what you may not know is that GAYnatter can actually be used on those devices. Great for either just quickly checking for messages when sitting at home and the PC or laptop's not turned on, or if you have an IPhone, when out and about.

Accessing GAYnatter on these devices is pure simplicity in itself. All you need to do is to have firstly registered your username on the site, and then set up your profile.

Then, once that's done, you can simply log on to GAYnatter on the IPhone or Ipod-Touch by pointing the web browser to the usual address of http://www.gaynatter.com

We hope you like this natty little feature, and that it makes using GAYnatter even more fun.

Chitter Chatter on GAYnatter

Have you noticed what's at the bottom of your webpage? Isn't that a bar that resembles the Facebook chat system... YUP! We've installed a chat system onto the website so you can quickly chat with your friends. You can see which of your friends are online, and send them a message. You can even send each other files, and review the history of what you've said in previous chats. A particular friend you want to speak to offline? No problem, send them a message and they will get it when they next log on.

Additionally, you will see that you can also join a chat room. At the moment we only have the general chat room, but if you have a suggestion for some more generic rooms, let us know. Oh, and if you want to create your own chat room so as you and a few friends can have a natter, then go right ahead. Once you've all left, after a short period of time, it will be removed.

Forums Added

After some careful thinking, we've decided to add a forums section to the website. The reasoning behind this is that whilst it's all well and good having a profile, and filing out the details, you can never have every bit of information for every users wish! Likewise, although you can create groups on GAYnatter to tailor for your specific interests, and have discussions within those groups, do you want to have to create a group everytime a relevant piece of news pops up?

We didn't think so! So, the forums have been added for your general banter and chit-chat. They are fully incorporated into GAYnatter, so, for example, when you post in a forum, your activities list on the main website alerts fellow members that you have done so, and even gives them a preview of what you posted!! Points and Karma are awarded for forum posts too!

Now, if you have a suggestion as to what different topics we should cover in the forum, we would love to hear about it from you! All suggestions readily welcomed!
